•-Through this column I as concern citizen would liked to request to the Public and Administrative Reform (P&AR) department and Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC), not to apply reservation policy while conducting examination, when it comes to recruitment of doctors in the government service, since these doctors of the so called backward tribes are also the creamy layers of the society. Moreover post creation for doctors in the Health and Family Welfare department are advertised once in a blue moon and that also only few post are advertised. All the medical doctors should be given the same opportunity whether they belong to the so called forward tribes or the backward tribes, for all the doctors read the same medical books and goes to reputed medical college. It is so discouraging for technical persons, especially doctors of the so called advance tribes, when they are denied government service even when they get higher marks in the competitive exam and at the same their fellow doctors are given government service just because they belong to the backward tribe even though they secure lesser marks in the competitive exams. It's high time the intellectuals of Nagaland have a serious discussion on the present reservation policy, so that the creamy layers (doctors/engineers) are excluded from the reservation policy.
