KOHIMA, JUNE 11 (DIPR): Principal, Oriental Theological Seminary & Convenor, Forum for Naga Reconciliation, Rev. Dr. Wati Aier called on the members of the Kohima Ao Officers Telongjem (KAOT) to dare to change so that they contribute to the reconstruction of the society. Speaking as main speaker at the 5th General conference of KAOT at Zonal Council Hall, Kohima today, Rev. Aier asked the Ao officers of Kohima what their thoughts is on the future of Naga society and if there is any place for them in the making of Naga society. He said that as the most blessed people, officers must commit and dedicate to change and accept the responsibility of investing in the future for the younger generation through innovative programmes. Retired IAS officer, Tali Longkumer and retired Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Imtila Jamir also exhorted the gathering to contribute to the growth and development of the Nagas as a whole as individuals and as a group by being instruments of change and by truthful leaders in their given positions.
Earlier, welcoming the gathering, President KAOT, Imkonglemba, IAS recounted the genesis and vision of the forum and the contributions and hard work of the founding members. He also enumerated some of the important contributions of KAOT to society and thanked the members for their support and cooperation in carrying out the activities of the forum successfully.
Presentation of audit report, ABAM Farm Development report, General report, nomination of new office bearers, and adoption of several resolutions for development of Mokokchung District and Naga Society etc were other highlights of the conference.
The new office bearers of KAOT nominated for the term 2011 to 2013 are:
