The young girls of Porba village under Phek district celebrated Sako Nyenye on August 22 at Porba village. Sako Nyenye is a unique festivity, traditionally celebrated by young girls of Porba village in the month of August. The literal meaning of Sako Nyenye is Sako-corn and Nyenye-festivity.

On this day, young girls gather in groups and spend the day preparing various delicacies made from corn, fruits, and berries. These delicacies are then shared with visitors. Cüsayi Lohe, a citizen of Porba, stated that this celebration marks the beginning of young girls preparing themselves to take on greater responsibilities in household chores and community life.
