Dimapur, December 11 (MExN): State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI), Nagaland organized a training programme on “Writing and Documentation Skills for Extension Functionaries” at SAMETI, Medziphema on December 10 and 11 for Block Technology Managers (BTM), ATMA.


The training was aimed to enable the ATMA functionaries from all districts to understand and equip appropriate tools for visual documentation and for preparing reports and newsletter, in the interest of enabling them to write standard farm publications and success stories which, in turn would serve as a record of the accomplishments achieved at the grassroots level.


A press release from Director SAMETI, Nagaland, Medziphema said the resource persons were Mary N Odyuo, Assistant Professor, Department of Rural Development and Sashilila Ao, guest faculty, Department of Agricultural Extension  NU SASRD, Medziphema Campus.  


Detailed theoretical and practical sessions were imparted on basic communication and documentation of activity reports/report writing; basic features of writing success stories; writing for farm publications and preparing write ups for press releases to be circulated in the local dailies. Apart from the topics, a basic training on Television, Video and Radio script for documentation was also conducted. 


The valedictory function was chaired by Vikaho Chophi, DPD SAMETI, while feedback from the trainees was given by Visavinuo BTM, Phek and Mlato Swu, ATM Dimapur respectively. The training saw a good turnout of participants from all districts of the State. Certificates were distributed to all the participants.
