SAWO cleanliness drive in support of plastic free city
SAWO members during cleanliness drive in Kohima held on November 12.
Kohima, November 17 (MExN): The Southern Angami Women Organisation (SAWO) undertook a cleanliness drive on November 12 last in Kohima. This cleanliness was undertaken in support of plastic free campaign. Women from all 11 units from Southern Angami came together to clean the area from Lerie to BOC.
A short program was held before the social work started, where SAWO president Thono Kechü stated that the main goals is to show the support of "Say no to plastic" and "Clean Kohima." SAWO appealed all the shopkeepers and restaurants/hotel owners to keep a dustbin outside their respective shops to avoid littering. She hoped that this will set a good example among the other citizens. She also called for a collective responsibility keep Kohima city neat and clean.
