Aids Rs 10 lakh to state government for Hornbill Festival

State Bank of India Kohima Branch today donated dumper truck to Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) and also donated a sum of Rs 10 lakh to the state government for the Hornbill Festival. 


Chief Minister of Nagaland Neiphiu Rio who was guest stated that although Nagaland does not have industries or business establishments, he said the SBI has been contributing to the state and from the beginning has been partnering with the state government by rendering its services to all the districts. He said although Nagas does not have a bank culture, the government is also encouraging business communities, commerce, government servants to utilize banking services.


Apart from banking services rendered to the state, he lauded the SBI for contributing through Corporate social responsibility (CSR), and partnering with the state for developmental activities. He further called for more banking facilities in the state. 


Chief Secretary and Finance Commissioner, Government of Nagaland Temjen Toy, IAS, KMC Administrator Kovi Meyase, and Sunil Kumar Tandon, Chief General Manager, SBI, Northeast circle, Guwahati also spoke at the function.
