Tuensang, May 17 (MExN): A district level SC-ST Conclave was held at GHSS Auditorium Tuensang on May 17. The Conclave was organised by NIDC Ltd Dimapur in collaboration with Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Nagaland under National SC-ST Hub, Ministry of MSME, Government of India. Lithrongla G Chichi IAS Commissioner & Secretary, Industries and Commerce Department Government of Nagaland graced the inaugural programme as the special guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Lithrongla G Chishi highlighted on the Central Government's special scheme which gives privileges to SC-ST people in India. This scheme will enable the SC and ST people in entrepreneurship and sustainable life. She maintained that Nagas in particular are creative but we lack commitment which hinders us to become successful entrepreneur.
She also encouraged the participants to devote on commitment and dedication to harvest their effort. She also encouraged students to seek education and training in activity/skill base learning stating that unemployment is a most talked problem we are facing for which we should be skilfully educated to tackle the unemployment problem.
The key note address was given by C. M. Lotha Managing Director, NIDC Ltd where he highlighted on the agendas and the objective of the programme. The objectives are professional support to SC-ST entrepreneurs in fulfilling the mandate for 4% procurement as per the public Procurement Policy 2012.
The Deputy Commissioner of Tuensang Mohamed Ali Shihab also spoke on the occasion. Three technical session dealing guidelines were held.
