SCERT Nagaland notifies

Kohima, September 7 (MExN): All the concerned have been informed that pursuant to the SCERT, Nagaland been appointed the Academic Authority under the Right to Education Act 2009 and the responsibility reposed on it to comprehensively review and restructure the Elementary Education in the state, decisions have been taken by the department in the interest of quality education.

A release received here said that from the next academic session, 2011 all schools, irrespective of private or government, will mandatorily be required to use the EVS /Social Science textbooks developed/prescribed by the SCERT, Nagaland as common text books in schools from Class 1-8.

English textbooks, proposed to be developed in collaboration with the British Council, Kolkata for classes 1-8 will be made common textbooks for all schools from 2012 onwards.

In this connection, all private schools have been directed to place their orders for next year to the publishers directly or get in touch with the SCERT for information on the list of authorized booksellers. This was stated in a notification issued by Vipralhou Kesiezie, director, SCERT, Nagaland, Kohima.
