Kohima, March 8 (MExN): A one month certificate course on School Leadership Development Programme (SLDP) for school heads got underway at SIEMAT Hall, SCERT, Kohima on March 8. The course programme will continue till April 8.
Aligned with guidelines provided by the National Centre for School Leadership (NCSL), National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), New Delhi, the training aimed to enhance leadership skills among school heads.
During the inaugural programme, Pekruzetuo Kesiezie, additional director highlighted the importance of continuous learning and skill development in today's fast-paced world.
Through these programs, the School Leadership Academy aims to empower school heads and leaders with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively manage and lead their schools in this rapidly transforming educational landscape.
By focusing on leadership qualities, providing training opportunities, and fostering continuous professional development, the School Leadership Academy is playing a vital role in preparing school heads to address the challenges posed by the evolving education system.
Achetla Ao, Joint Director & Cell Head, SLA, SIEMAT &Assessment Cell, SCERT shared the programme structure. The programme will span over one month, with a blended format incorporating both face-to-face training at the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) in Nagaland, as well as project work in participants' respective schools.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Dr. Thebi Joseph Shupao, Research Associate, SCERT. The resource persons for the program includes core members of the School Leadership Academy, SCERT, comprising personnel from SCERT and the Directorate of School Education.
