Schools Welfare projects recommended

Dimapur June 8 (DIPR): The monthly meeting of the Dimapur District Planning & Development Board June 6 has approved recommendations for opening new schools as well as up-gradation of some existing ones as well as financial assistance to combat trafficking of women and children for commercial, sexual exploitation.

The recommendation, submitted by the District Education Officer, Dimapur was made at the meeting which was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall under the chairmanship of Minister for Industries & Commerce, Khekiho Zhimomi. The schools falling under the recommendations for  opening are Cedar School (Chumukedima), Timothy Elementary School Bade (Dimapur), Blue Star School (Singrijan), Queen May School (Chekiye Village), Ekrani Pathar Primary School (BPO Eralibill, Dimapur), Noah’s Ark International School (Sovima Village, 6th Mile) and  Sematilla Private School (Sematilla, Dimapur). 

Those ones recommended for up-gradation are Alpine School (Sematilla Colony, Dimapur), Millenial Vision School (Burma Camp), Brighter Academy (Model Village, 7th Mile, Chumukedima), Trinity School (Tahekhu) and Government Middle School (Khaghaboto).  The school recommended for financial assistance is Zion School Society (Kacharigoan Dimapur) while a change of nomenclature was made for Holo School, Dimapur.

The District Welfare Officer also proposed for recommendation of financial assistance for a pilot project to combat trafficking of women and children who are commercially/sexual exploited. The Dimapur Welfare Association is behind the submission. This was also discussed and recommended for approval to the concern Department. The Board also decided that the submission of LADP schemes should be made on or before June 20 this year. During the meeting the Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, K N Ngullie also  read out the letter received from Additional Chief Secretary and Commissioner, Nagaland regarding ban of proposals that denunciated Government buildings, either official or residential quarters. 

Meanwhile, the chairman Khekiho Zhimomi said that the Planning Board was earlier more effective because the concerned Departments implemented the schemes and projects which the Board approved.
