Scouts and guides conferred awards

Nagaland Governor, Nikhil Kumar, HTE & Urban Development minister and president NSBS&G, Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu and State Chief Commissioner (G) NSBS&G and ex-MP Khyomo Lotha along with Rajya Puraskar Award recipients (Scouts).
 
Kohima | November 7 : 21 Scouts and 28 Guides received Rajya Puraskar award while two scouts and nine guides also received Rashtrapati certificate from different districts this morning which was handed out by Nagaland Governor, Nikhil Kumar at Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan.
The Nagaland State Bharat Scouts & Guides observed Rajya Puraskar Award cum Release of Rashtrapati Certificate ceremony with Nagaland State, Governor who is also the Chief patron of Nagaland Bharat Scouts & Guides, Nikhil Kumar as the chief guest.
The governor congratulated the awardees and lauded the well disciplined nature of the students saying “You have done enough to deserve the award”.
He asserted that anything that is learned during the Movement will be of very practical in the society and urged the students to be prepared to meet the needs of the society, people and also to live up to the expectation of the community and the country as well.
Adding that the students should be aware of the mission, the governor maintained that the foundation laid during tender age will later realize the selfless service and love they have rendered to the society in the later years.
 “You are apart of the world wide movement that builds character with commitment, desire and passion to work for others”, Governor said and urged to be a contributor to the society.
Chairing the ceremony Minister, Urban Development & Higher & Technical Education who is also the President, Nagaland Bharat Scouts & Guide, Dr. Shürhozelie Leizietsu in his brief address said the movement has grown from strength to strength though the movement reached Nagaland lately.
He suggested involvement of enrolment from the church and urged the students to convey the message of its movement values that can have huge association in the later years.
Leizietsu also said the movement has rapidly grown all over the world which is an educational movement, to train young people of the healthy habits and to develop sense of service to God, community and country at large, inculcating human values to produce worthy citizens.
The chairman urged the students to be prepared to help others and also should learn the art of forgiveness, respect elders and fundamental human values adding that once the movement flourishes, there will be a change in the society at large.
Earlier welcome address was delivered by Nino Iralu, additional District & Session Judge/FTC Kohima & State commissioner (G) NSBS&G, while Khyomo Lotha spoke on the significance of the day.
Engineer Nekitu proposed vote of thanks.
