Screening of passengers entering Nagaland would likely begin in about two days time. According to the latest update from state Health officials, the process to start screening of incoming passengers (rail and road) was discussed today during a meeting with Nagaland Police officials.

Health department officials will be training police personnel, including Central Police personnel, in all the district headquarters on the use of thermal scanners other preventive measures. “The police personnel will assist Health department officials at entry points to screen passengers,” informed one Health Department official. The railway station in Dimapur will also be included as one of the entry points.

Screening of road and rail passengers would start in about two days (tentatively) after the completion of training of the police personnel. It comes in the wake of the Nagaland state government issuing directive to start the monitoring of all checkposts and entry points into the state.
