Kohima, November 23 (MExN): Liutanant General Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, Director General of Assam Rifles (DGAR), flagged in the “Seema Darshan” Educational Tour at Kenguruse Hall, Kohima on November 23.
The tour, organised by the Phek Battalion, comprised 22 students and two teachers from Meluri who travelled to Tawang as part of an initiative to promote national integration and enhance awareness of border management.

Interacting with the team, the DGAR underscored the importance of exposing young students to India’s border regions, diverse cultural heritage, and the crucial role of security forces in protecting the nation. He urged them to utilise the experience to broaden their outlook and become informed citizens contributing to peace, unity, and national development.

Lt Gen Lakhera also acknowledged the efforts of the organising unit for conducting the tour in a structured, educational manner. On the occasion, he presented DG Commendation Cards to selected Assam Rifles personnel for their dedicated service.
The programme concluded with participants expressing gratitude to Assam Rifles for the opportunity and the enriching learning experience, informed a press note.
