Longleng, September 23 (MExN): The Yingli Mission Society (YMS) has invited the principal and headmaster of various colleges and schools under Longleng District to participate in signature campaign to ban r-word (R=retarded word).
While valuing the services of the educational institutes for the welfare of the students community in the district particularly, the slow learners, the YMS, in partnership with the Special Olympics Bharat, Nagaland (SOB, Nagaland) is organizing Signature Campaign to ban R-word (R=Retarded word) in schools and colleges in the district this week.
Programme Manager, YMS & District Representative, SOB, Nagaland, Senti Jamir has informed that This campaign is a nation-wide competition among the normal schools students to show respect, accept and appreciation to those slow learners (mentally retarded) in the field of their capacities, especially games and sports etc.
In this connection, the educational institute’s authority are requested to extend their participation in the campaign/programme by identifying 10-15 (or more) volunteers of the institution who can get at least 30 signature each of their friends/parent or neighbours etc. supporting the campaign to ban R-word and return the filled/signed forms to the office or the YMS on or before September 24 which will be further submitted to the State and National office immediately.
