Mokokchung, July 18 (MExN): A Slow Loris was rescued from Kichutip Ward, Mokokchung town by Watinaro and her son lmlisunep Kichu around 9:00 pm on July 17. It was handed over to Mokokchung Forest Division for necessary course of action at 10:45am on July 18. 


A press release from the department informed that the animal was retrieved by Dy Ranger, Imtitongdang and Forest Guard, Lanuwapang. This was followed up by coordinating with the Mokokchung Village Council for the release of Slow Loris into their Yimlu Forest Reserve by Imtiakum (Forester-I). 


The department staff along with Range Forest Officer, I Sashilemla and two village council members took it to the Forest Reserve. A word of prayer was offered by one of the village council member before releasing the animal. “The Slow Loris made its way into the depth of the jungle,” it added.
