Office of the Sub Divisional Office for Soil and Water Conservation was inaugurated at Seyouchung Town on June 14 in the presence of department Officials, HODs and leaders from various organizations.
Speaking at the inaugural program V Kashiho Sangtam, Minister for Soil & Water Conservation, Geology & Mining, NSMDC asserted that the PDA government objectives is to fullfil the promise of development but at the same time landowners and stakeholders should be willing to extend support and cooperation for development to take place on the ground.
Stressing on the importance to develop, 'rural area Kashiho said rural economy should focus on the unique strengths of each area, rather than concentrating on ameliorating generic weakness'.
Pointing out that inauguration of Soil & Water Conservation Sub Divisional Office in Seyouchung Town will infuse and accelerate development in rural areas he stated that rural economic development should address and harness the efficient spatial distribution of economic activity rather than attempt to replicate urban economies.
Sangtam also expressed gratitude to the government, stating that whatever development taking place in Kiphire was because PDA government is serious about development in backward areas.
Minister also launched MIS on ICAT (Integrated Catchment Area Treatment) and NAFCC (National Adoption Fund for Climate Change).
Short speech was delivered by Viliehu Nguzhu Director of Soil& Water Conservation and the programme was chaired by Vikeyie Kenya, Commissioner & Secretary, Soil & Water Conservation, while the vote of thanks was proposed by Chumei Yanlem District Soil Conservation Officer Kiphire.
