Soil & Water Conservation bids farewell to Additional Director Hovuto

Kohima, September 30 (MExN): The Directorate of Soil & Water Conservation held a farewell programme for Additional Director AS Hovuto at its Conference Hall in Kohima on September 30 marking the conclusion of his 32 years, six months and 29 days of government service.

Registrar Vilavotuo Vincent Sote, in his reminiscence, reflected on Hovuto’s long service and contributions to the department, as well as the professional relationships developed over the years.

Advisor to Information & Public Relations (IPR) and Soil & Water Conservation, Daochier I. Imchen, congratulated Hovuto on his retirement and acknowledged his service to the department. Imchen described him as a friend and guide and wished him good health and fulfilment in retirement.

Director L. Chubaonen expressed appreciation for Hovuto’s service and presented his completed pension papers as a retirement gift. He also acknowledged his knowledge, skills, dedication and conduct during his years in government service.

Other departmental officials, including Joint Secretary Vikuonuo Vizo, Project Director Rongsenlemzung, Joint Director Limasunep and SDO(SC) Wondangbeni Kikon, recalled Hovuto’s professionalism, dedication, humility and approachable nature. Their remarks reflected on his interactions with colleagues and his contribution to the department over the course of his career.

In his farewell address, Hovuto expressed gratitude to the Almighty and recalled his service under 21 Directors during his career. He encouraged colleagues to continue working sincerely for the department and the people.

Hovuto also spoke on the importance of maintaining relationships, humility and letting go of ego, observing that while official positions and circumstances change, relationships built during one’s journey remain significant, informed press release from the department.
