SRSU rues slow pace of road work

DIMAPUR, MARCH 29 (MExN): The Suruhuto Range Students Union (SRSU) has expressed disappointment at the slow pace of work with regard to the 15 km road construction from Suruhuto to Asukhomi village at a cost of over Rs 16 Crore. A press release from the SRSU informed that the work was executed in mid-2018.

The road is the lifeline of the people in Suruhuto area, it stated, and lamented that due to the slow pace of work “commuters are facing untold hardship.”

The union stated that despite earlier assurances for quickening up the pace of the work, only little progress has been seen. It further demanded that the contractors and the concerned department ensure that there is quality workmanship.

It assured to extend full cooperation towards the work and urged the concerned parties to complete the work as per the Detailed Project Report (DPR). The union informed that it would continue to keep tabs on the status of the road until the work is completed.
