SSB protest: NSF to hoist black flags and banners

DIMAPUR, MARCH 16 (MExN): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has decided to hoist black flags along with banners in their respective HQs from March 18 as protest against the State Government’s failure to institute the Staff Selection Board.
This was decided in a meeting today, as the federation resolved to keep in abeyance all mass based democratic agitations in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The NSF’s federating units were also directed to carry out poster campaigns in their respective jurisdictions.

A press release from the NSF President, Ninoto Awomi and Vice President, Dievi Yano expressed strong resentment against the state government’s inability to materialize the NSSB despite repeated reminders and lapse of ultimatums.

It meanwhile said that the federation would continue to actively liaise with the state government in-order to ensure that the “collective aspirations of the Naga youths and students is materialized without further delay.”

It asked the government to refrain from using delay tactics. The consultative meeting also resolved that further inaction on the part of the state government would attract “strong mass based democratic agitation across the state.”
