•-It is distressing to learn about the stand-off between Senjum village and Aoyimkum village. It seems an ugly situation was averted. Thanks to the administration and police for intervening at the right time to curb the tension. As per the news and from witnesses we learn that crowd took stance on village/ tribal lines, about to fight, which is very unfortunate. Elders and responsible youths will never take such confrontational stance. My humble appeal to the concern village authorities is to set up a Joint Council Peace Committee and adopt resolutions condemning unruly elements and at the same time find out the stirrer and take appropriate action. We cannot allow disharmony in our society because of some irrational youths.
