Kohima, February 4 (MExN): The Department of Sericulture organized departmental co-ordination meeting at Directorate Conference Hall, Kohima on February 3. The meeting was graced by Zhaleo Rio, IAS (Rtd), Advisor, Sericulture, Excise & Minority Affairs, Nagaland.
Addressing the meeting, Zhaleo reminded about policies and programmes of the Government and give more focus on the development of the Sericulture for the rural upliftment and employment generation as the State is blessed with favourable climatic condition. While encouraging the Department, he advised to identify potential farmers among the targeted groups and have Sericulture blocks in all the districts. Zhaleo also urged all the district officers to be regular in attending DPDB meeting in their respective Districts.
The Director of Sericulture in a press release said that during the course of the meeting, power point presentation focusing on the achievements during current year and action plan for the coming year 2022-23 was presented by all the District Sericulture Officers.
The welcome address was delivered by T Sanny Pongener, Director of Sericulture. Orenpomo Kikon, Commissioner & Secretary impressed upon the departmental officers and staffs to be sincere and maintain good coordination. The meeting was chaired by Mhathung Kikon, Additional Director and the vote of thanks was delivered by T Yanger Ao, Joint Director.
