Step by Step School undertakes educational trip
The Step by Step School, Zunheboto team during the educational trip.
Zunheboto, January 16 (MExN): The Step by Step School, Zunheboto as part of educational trip visited Tizu Valley Biodiversity and Livelihood Network Zunheboto, Community Conserved Area (CCA) headed by principal cum proprietor, Jekugha Assumi.
Assumi informed that the objectives of the trip were to let the students practically learn the meaning of conservation and also experience the first hand knowledge of conservation through a model village like Sukhai, supplementing the concrete book knowledge. He added that it was to let the students not only learn about conservation but also to let them emulate in their own villages in their own capacity.
Chairman of CCA, Ivan Zhimomi highlighted the activities. He shared how the village economy is slowly growing through homestays and making it a tourist attention sites. Ivan informed about the traditional practices of Sukhai and neighbouring villages. He also informed that ‘TVBLN’ has discovered and recorded numbers of endemic bird and butterflies species and added, “it is the second place where the highest number of bird species are found in the world.”
