Students urged to instill competitive spirit
Minister V Kashiho Sangtam at the 25th SASU games and sports inaugural session held at Seyochung Hq on January 3.
Seyochung, January 3 (MExN): The second day of the 25th Seycohung Area Students Union (SASU) was held here at Seyochung Hq on January 3 with V Kashiho Sangtam, Minister for Soil and Water conservation and Geology and Mining, as special guest.
A press release issued by Horiba Sangtam, Planning Secretary, SASU stated that the special guest in his speech said, “We are living in a competitive age where modern science and technologies are developing better and faster day by day. Students need to have a competitive spirit in every aspect.”
He however, cautioned that, technologies should be used for the advantages of our day today life but should be more careful because it can also ruin one’s life. “Educated unemployed in the state are alarming; therefore, for the sustenance growth, skill development and capacity building should also be developed for self reliance and for the growth of the society,” he stated.
He also encouraged communities living in the area that Nagas are by blood brothers and sisters and for that reason, should inculcate the sense of brotherhood to foster peace and unity, leaving aside ism, bias and prejudice. “Without peace, development activities are hampered and we will never move forward,” he added.
Earlier, the special guest unfurled the 25th SASU Flag which was followed by an invocation by Tsointhsi, Youth Pastor Thsingar Baptist Lithro. Chumseli Anar delivered the Presidential address. Horiba Sangtam, Secretary Planning Committee extends a welcome note to the gatherings and Anato Sumi, President Kiphire Tuensang District Sumi Students Union (KTDSSU) delivered a solidarity speech and KAL voice presented a special number. T Sepili and S Lumjungla were comperes of the programme.
Meanwhile, the oath taking ceremony was initiated by Tsaroli, Games and Sports Secretary SASU and declaration of the 25th SASU sports was done by the special guest.
