PTCSU organise state toppers felicitation cum career guidance

Phek, October 3 (MExN): Pfutsero Town Chakhesang Students’ Union (PTCSU) state toppers felicitation cum career guidance was held under the theme ‘explore the unexplored’ on September 30. It was attended by all the class 10 and class 12 students of Pfutsero town.

Vechikhoyi Lohe, Principal GHSSP and also President of Pfutsero Town Schools Association was the speaker for state toppers felicitation programme. Lohe he enlightened the students the various aspects and essential of being a good student. He stressed the alarming concern of using mobile phone which is one of the major distractions for student’s career. 

He also challenged the students to make a difference and put more extra efforts if you want to make a difference in the society and stand out from the rest of the competitors. “To be successful in a competitive world, one need to work even while other sleep and take rest and put God first and belief in yourself; be a contributor to the society,” Lohe asserted. 

In the career guidance session, Er Waweu Wetsah, JE, PWD Pfutsero spoke on civil and state service exam. She stressed on various civil service under state and central level. She encouraged the students to work hard and start early if one is to prepare competitive exam. “One should follow their dream and dedication is one important quality that a person should master. A person passion in becoming a Civil servant should start from high schools,” she stated. 

Rekha Rose Dukru, Entrepreneur and Executive Member CPO spoke on skill development and social worker. She stressed on the need for improvements and learning of new skills be it soft skills or hard skills. 

“In a world of competition just having a degree is not enough and one need to acquired skills to stand out of others candidates,” she observed. “One need to master skills based to earn livelihood as it hold a promising future in a world of much bookish knowledge; One need to build early leadership from schools and colleges if a person wants to become a social leader,” Dukru added. 

She said that social worker is a field where it is an unpaid profession and criticised a lot by many when things are not done right. “Yet, it holds an important decision making policies in various capacity and aspects.”

Dr Vepfuhu Kezo, MO, CHC Pfutsero spoke on technical and medical filed. He explained various medical and technical fields students can choose after 10 and 12 boards. He told the students that one should love math and other subject like chemistry, physics and biology to be a doctor or engineer. He explained the various careers under technical as well as medical. Dedication, disciplines and sacrifices is what matter the most for those who pursue technical and medical field.

Krishna Ramauli, Entrepreneur and Pastor, NBCP spoke on entrepreneur and theological field. He encourages the students to pursue entrepreneurship and be a job provider rather than being a job seeker. He explains that entrepreneurs add wealth to the economy and is an asset to the society. 

“To be a successful entrepreneur one need to be discipline, honest and work hard. To be a church worker it has to be a calling of God and it’s a good profession serving God,” he stated. 

He also added how the recent change in some universities recognised by UGC where even a theologian student can also appear for competitive exams.
