KOHIMA, OCTOBER 4 (MExN): Studio-B at Doordarshan Kendra (DDK), Kohima was inaugurated by Additional Director General Technical Ved Prakash on October 2 in the presence of senior officials from Prasar Bharati and Doordarshan. Additional Director General and Zonal Head, Northeast Zone, Satyajeet Dash, and Additional Director General P&D, Doordarshan and Akashvani, Abhishek Agarwal, were also present.
In his technical report, Neizekhotuo Yhome, Assistant Director, Engineering (Rtd), highlighted the state-of-the-art equipment provided to the station and thanked the Zonal Office and DDK staff for their support in setting up the studio. Agarwal said efforts would be made to establish full-fledged technical infrastructure for Studio-B, including Studio News, Studio Chain and visual mixing facilities, in the next financial year. He also encouraged content teams to bring stories from across Nagaland to wider audiences.
Dash said the second studio had been needed for a long time and appreciated the support extended for the project. Ved Prakash said the equipment was of international standards and urged its effective use to showcase Nagaland’s rich heritage. The new studio is expected to enable DDK Kohima to undertake higher-quality production and seamless streaming with upgraded broadcasting technology.
