Success story of progressive beekeeper- Kiusangthong

Kiusangthong is a progressive beekeeper having 30 colonies both in scientific and traditional hives.

He was the recipient of District Level Award for Best Beekeeper 2019 during 2nd Nagaland Honey Bee Day held at Kohima recently under the aegis of Nagaland Beekeeping & Honey Mission (NBHM) with support from North East Council (NEC).

Hailing from New Vongti, Pungro sub Division of Kiphire district, he has availed the para apiarist training organized by NBHM for progressive  beekeepers and is actively involved in sensitizing and motivating fellow farmers in Pungro area under Kiphire district.

Today, through beekeeping, he is earning a good income to sustain his family and give quality education to his children.
Moreover, he extends his full cooperation to NBHM by assisting the mission in Kiphire district as a resource person for practical demonstration during various training programmes on modern scientific beekeeping.

He is role model and serves as an important role as farmer to farmer knowledge disseminator on beekeeping knowledge in the district.
