DIMAPUR, JULY 16 (MExN): The Sumi Region NSCN/GPRN Khaplang informed that it was comprised of more than eighty (80) civilian workers, therefore the desertion of few dozen workers led by what it termed as the “immature and pretentious Tatar (Dy. Secy) Huvito Yepthomi does in no-manner reflects the official stand of Sumi Region, NSCN/GPRN”. According to a press note issued by Nitovi Yepthomi Chairman of Sumi Region, Leacy (Seniormost) Hukhevi Yepthomi and Hokishe Zhimomi, P.O, Sumi Region NSCN/GPRN, it stated that in reality, the Sumi region is relieved for having removed such workers who are but liabilities not only to the Region but NSCN in general.
According to the press note, the Sumi people particularly the citizens of Zunheboto could now heave a sigh of relief as Huvito Yepthomi has all along been “befooling the Sumi People with his hypocrisy and ever a Pharisee in his real persona”. “His outward deceptive appearances as plain looking as a village school teacher and often pretending as religious and morally righteous is indeed short-lived , his true self is bound to surface any time and has rightly been proved true by series of defections within this few weeks. A conniving and cunning, opportunist filled with greed and extreme crave for publicity propelled him to first declare loyalty to Khole and Kitovi through the Media”, the press note stated.
The press note went on to claim that as a bonus “he was paid Rs.200000 by N. Kitovi at Khehoi” and that the “very next day with the cash he returned to Sumi Region and even visited Suruhuto Camp and organised the meeting of Sumi Regional Workers presided over by himself and in contradiction to his own earlier declaration of loyalty to Khole and Kitovi, made another declaration through media re-affirming support to NSCN/GPRN led by SS.Khaplang, and continued as Caretaker Sumi Region for another week”.
Further, “citing emergency, he collected GPRN’s revenue to the tune of more than Rs. 50 lakhs”. The NSCN/GPRN Khaplang pointed out that in order not to face the financial inquiry (audit) instituted against him, he “decided to re-join the gang”. “And along with two service weapons one handgun and stolen cash, like a thief re-defected to Khehoi gang , and naturally being unabashed and as expected brazenly publicised his final escapade to Khehoi gang so as to re-impress and convince the Gang leaders at Khehoi”.
The Sumi Region press note stated that it shall take “stern action against these defectors if they are found to be indulging in using or associating themselves with the Sumi Region or trying to re-enter Sumi Region jurisdiction in any manner”. “The Sumi Region NSCN/GPRN shall through any measures deemed appropriate, recover back the embezzled GPRN’s revenue and properties by Huvito Yepthomi from him personally”.
