Dimapur, February 7 (MExN): The Directorate of Economics and Statistics, Government of Nagaland will be conducting a survey on hotel and restaurants and tea and snacks stall throughout the State from the month of February to March 2020 for strengthening of statistical data base.
A DIPR report stated that the purpose of the survey is to establish the numbers of manpower engaged in hotel and restaurant industries. “The survey is also intended to bring out estimates on the level of investment, expenditure and income generated. The rate and ratios derived from the survey will help in estimation of District Domestic Product and improve the overall Gross State Domestic Product of the State,” it added.
Therefore, public and owners of hotel and restaurants and tea and snacks stall in particulars are requested to cooperate with the Field Functionaries (Viz DESOs, Enumerators, Supervisors or any person as appointed by Government) and provide them with the relevant information as per the schedule. The data collected is for the production of statistics and there will be no dissemination of confidential information or any non-statistical linkage with existing record in any other agencies, Individual data collected by statistical agencies for statistical compilation, whether they refer to natural or legal persons, will be strictly confidential and used exclusively for statistical purposes.
“This survey is exercised under the collection of Statistical Act 2008, as such providing wrong information or not furnishing information is punishable under the Act,” the DIPR report added.
