Longleng, May 12 (MExN): In some parts of Longleng district, cattle, mithun and goat have died of “suspected outbreak of anthrax which is zoonotic and possess public health hazard.” The Deputy Commissioner, Longleng, M Shayung Phom in an order, made available by the DPRO Longleng, has imposed ban on slaughtering, selling and import of cattle, mithun and goat in the district with immediate effect until further order. The DC Longleng stated that “necessary action against defaulters will be initiated as per the prevention and control of infectious and contagious diseases in Animal Act 2009 and other relevant sections of law.”
