KOHIMA, AUGUST 11 (MExN): Earthian-WIPRO's sustainability education programme for schools was organised by the Nagaland Institute of Health Environment and Social Welfare (NIHESW), Kohima in collaboration with WIPRO foundation on August 7 at DIC Conference hall, Upper Chandmari, Kohima.
A press note from the NCSC, Nagaland informed that Ashish Shah, Associate Earthian was the resource person.
The core objectives of Earthian programme include integrating sustainability education into schools curriculums; to critically engage students with sustainability issues through multiple perspectives; driving sustainability thinking and action through the learning process; and empowering teachers and learners to drive change in their own contexts and environment, it was stated in a press release.
Science teacher in schools will guide school children in preparing projects which will be submitted to WIPRO foundation in the last week of October. The best ten projects will be awarded a national award of Rs 1 lakh with citations at WIPRO, Bangaluru next year, the release further said.
The programme was attended by science teachers from secondary and higher secondary schools. It was chaired by Santu Thapa, State Coordinator, NCSC, Nagaland and vote of thanks was pronounced by Kezevitonuo Pienyu, General Secretary, NIHESW.
