TB Elimination prog: Wokha dist stands first in overall performance

•    Peren and Phek lowest performing districts 
•    Kiphire, Mon and Wokha best in Universal Drug Susceptibility Testing

Kohima, February 4 (MExN): The National TB Elimination Programme (NTEP) conducted annual review meeting at the IDSP Conference Hall, Directorate of Health & Family welfare Kohima on February 3. 

State presentation was presented by Dr Collins Z Sono, Medical Consultant WHO (NTEP). During the course of the meeting, he mentioned that Wokha district stood first in overall performance followed by Mon and Kiphire district during the year 2021. Longleng and Kiphire district is performing well in TB Notification where as Peren and Phek district is the lowest performing district. Kiphire, Mon and Wokha district were best in Universal Drug Susceptibility Testing (UDST 2021) offered among TB patients. 

A press release issued by the DoHFW said that the meeting was attended by Districts TB Officers and District Accountants. The State TB Officer, Dr Tiasunup Pongener welcomed all the attendees and encouraged all to strive harder to achieve the Programme’s Targets an Indicators.  

Dr I Talitemsula Jamir, Mission Director (NHM) appreciated NTEP for conducting review meeting regularly. She stressed on the importance of the State Nodal Agency (SNA) which is a new financial system and reminded all to work in close co-ordination with the NHM-DAM for any issue at the district level. She also encouraged DTOs and staff to put more efforts for TB Elimination.
