Thüvopisü | December 29: The 75th gospel anniversary celebration of the Thüvopisü Baptist Church (TBC) under the theme “Jesus is the Lord” concluded here this evening.
The main speaker of the two daylong celebration included Rev. Vezopa Tetseo, executive secretary Chakhesang Baptist Church Council, Rev. Dr. Dusanü Venyo, co-ordinator CMS and Dr. Phuveyi Dozo, director OSC India. They spoke on the topic “Commitment for Jesus,” “Jesus in ages to come” and “Jesus in Changing World,” respectively.
Cultural exhibition also marked the celebration this afternoon in the presence of minister for health & family welfare Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu.
“Let this 75th anniversary remind us to rededicate our lives and renew our hearts to be more humble and faithful to God,” said TBC pastor Amüdo Tetseo in a souvenir brought on the occasion.
He said that the growth of this church starts with a humble beginning through Lt. Lesonyi Dozo and now it is grown as a huge fruit bearing tree.
“I also must make special mention of delight and satisfaction as my ancestor’s village has made an upsurge growth of faith in Christ being demonstrated by deeds in producing missionaries and gospel bearers,” penned Rev. Vezopa Tetseo, executive secretary CBCC.
The cross- cultural missionaries from Thüvopisümi village included; Hukhwüyi Müdeo, Rev. Dr. Phuveyi Dozo, Thüpuzhoi Dozo, Rev. Dr. Dusanü Venyo, Nütsülü Venyo, Nüsavolü Dozo and Thüjoveyi Tetseo.
As a response to the command of Jesus Christ and the gospel coming to Thüvopisü village (1939), the TBC started sending out missionaries with Hukhwüyi Müdeo as the first cross cultural missionary to Arunachal Pradesh in 1984 based at Telam field. He retired in 2007 yet continues in the ministry in the same field with Galo Baptist Association.
Rev. Dr. Phuveyi Dozo and his family moved down to New Delhi as cross cultural missionaries with OC India in the early 90’s after many years of his involvement as field evangelist of CBCC, pastor of Phek Town Baptist Church and as general secretary of Nagaland Baptist Church Council. His current major ministry is cross cultural missionary training at Missiological Research Centre, Dimapur, working with OC International. His family runs the Great Commission Kids Academy from pre-primary to Class 10 with a commitment of raising credible people for the Lord through quality education.
Thüpuzhoi Dozo joined North India Mission field based at Khatima (present Undham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand) in 1994. He also served as pastor at Chakhesang Baptist Church, Diphupar (1997-99). Later on in 2001, he shifted to east Uttar Pradesh and Nepal Border based at Nautanwa where he continues the ministry with United Himalayan Mission supported by Chakhesang Mission Society. His main ministry is church planting in India and Nepal alongside Mt. Hermon Academy at Nautanwa, UP.

And prior to CBCNEI service as mission secretary in 2005, he was training missionaries at the Missiological Research Center Dimapur. Currently, he is with Chakhesang Mission Society as mission coordinator for which he makes frequent field visits in order to promote cross-cultural missions.
Following her training at MCR, Nütsülü Venyo served as a warden and teacher at Great Commission Kids Academy, Dimapur. The Lord called her to mission field as missionary teacher based at Nautanwa (UP) in 2008 till date. God has called Nüsavolü Dozo to North India mission field as missionary teacher at Nautanwa (UP) in 2007 and serving till date.
Thüjoveyi Tetseo joined ministry in 2010 after obtaining his MLA in missiology. He is now looking after the Chakhesang student community as chaplain in Kolkata.
