Tetso College observes Vigilance Awareness Week
Students with faculty of Airports Authority of India, Dimapur Airport after the programme held at Tetso College after the observance of Vigilance Awareness Week held from October 28 to November 2.
Dimapur, November 1 (MExN): In observance of the ongoing Vigilance Awareness Week from October 28 to November 2, a Short Video Clip Competition under the theme ‘Integrity – A Way of Life’ was organized by Airports Authority of India, Dimapur Airport in collaboration with Tetso College today at the college auditorium.
The event which was opened to the post graduate and higher secondary students of the college witnessed a total of seven short video entries of two minutes each.
The videos conveyed messages such as raising public awareness regarding the existence, causes, and gravity of and the threat posed by corruption. The students presented that corruption in all spheres of life can be overcome by practicing good moral value ethics such as honesty, integrity, fairness, respect for others and respect for the law.
At the end of the screening, Thoiba Koza of Class 12 Arts was declared the winner and received Rs 2500 while Vilalhoulie Rupreo of Class 11 Arts and Iziedile of Class 12 Commerce stood second and third and were awarded Rs 2000 and Rs 1500 respectively.
Earlier, Salman Azhar, Junior Engineer (Technical), Dimapur Airport represented the Airports Authority of India and spoke on the evils of corruption. He encouraged the students to take a stand and fight against corruption, adding that ethical conduct and integrity are essential elements of good governance in our institutions and pre-requisites for inclusive development.
The Central Vigilance Commission, Government of India observes Vigilance Awareness Week every year to commemorate the birthday of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in a bid to stigmatize the culture of corruption, favoritism and nepotism and to actively promote conduct inspired by values of ‘integrity’ – this year’s theme.
Meanwhile, the college expressed gratitude to the Airports Authority of India for raising awareness on preventive vigilance measures and giving its students an opportunity to showcase their talents.
