Dimapur, November 13 (MExN): Tetso College, Dimapur in collaboration with the host, University of Melbourne organized an online international conference as part of the project ‘Leading Together: The 2021 Dialogues on Women and Leadership in India & Australia’ on November 12.
The Leading Together project is a platform for the undergraduate students from the University of Melbourne and four institutions across India comprising Tetso College in Nagaland, Stella Maris College in Chennai (affiliated with the University of Madras), Savitribai Phule Pune University in Pune and the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Guwahati Campus and Tuljapur Campus, stated a press release here.
]The conference began with a welcome from the University of Melbourne which was delivered by Dr Dolly Kikon, Deputy Associate Dean International - India and Prof Kate Mac Neill, Associate Dean of Education and students in the Faculty of Arts. This was followed by the technical sessions where the undergraduate students from all the participating institutes in India and Melbourne presented, performed and engaged in dialogues on women and leadership particularly focusing on the areas of health, sustainability, technology and education.
Speeches were delivered by Imlibenla (BA 3rd Semester Psychology Honours), Iziedile (BCom 3rd Semester), Apeinuo Ziephru (BA 5th Semester Economics Honours), and Yimtiyong Longkumer (BA 1st Semester History Honours) pertaining to the four themes while a Beat Poem titled ‘I Write Anyway’ was performed by Sungjemlila Longkumer (BA 5th Semester Sociology Honours).
A Sumi Naga Traditional Dance performed by Tetso students and special number by Mhasirienuo Phewhuo (BA 3rd Semester Sociology Honours) were also part of the event. The session was chaired by Keso Keppen (BA 3rd Semester English Honours) and Dr Tatongkala Pongen, Assistant Dean, School of Social Sciences gave the opening remarks.
