Theünuo Krotho celebrates golden jubilee

The golden jubilee celebration of Theünuo Krotho (1970-2020) took place today at Theünuo Homestead, Meriema.
During the celebration, Theünuo clan members from 18 Angami villages, including many from Chakhesang tribe, prayed for forgiveness of the past misdeeds and renewed its approach for progress and peaceful coexistence.
The celebrants also affirmed to help each other in times of difficulty and also to come closer as one family.


This golden jubilee celebration strengthened the bond of brotherhood, unity and comradeship of Theünuo clan from different parts of the state.


Southern Angami Public Organization (SAPO) president, Vimezhol urged upon the members to maintain the spirit of oneness for all round development.


He also stressed on the need to broaden the horizon and also undertake research to keep the origin intact. He also called upon the member to be the messenger of peace and also asked them to be “the givers and not takers.”  


Theünuo Krotho president, Vizonyü in his presidential address urged upon the members to develop better understanding, unity and peace. He also urged upon the members to develop positive attitude and support each other.


Neithonuo Liegise in her speech called upon the members to reason together and strives for excellence in the different spheres of life. “Let honesty be your strength,” she said and at the same stressed on the need to seek blessings from elders for dignify and successful life.


Speaking on behalf of Chakhesang Theünuo Krotho, Z Lohe called upon the members to have will power to speak the truth in this crucial period of the Naga society. He asked members to stand for truth for a progressive and healthy society. Lohe also discouraged falsehoods which aim to demolish peaceful environment in the society.


The Meriema Village Council chairman also spoke at the celebration.


The celebration witnessed presentation of blankets to 80 plus citizens.


The programme was chaired by Er. Kezhazelhou while Rev. Ketsozeho pronounced invocation prayer. Organizing committee convenor Kesoneilie proposed the vote of thanks.


Late Ziekro-o Theünuo had initiated the first get-together of Theünuo clan in 1970 in order to develop friendship and unity amongst the clan members spread over different villages and districts of the state.
