Thuda FC and Meluri Town FC entered the final of the ongoing 12th edition of the Pochury Black Day Memorial Cup 2026 at Meluri Local Ground on Wednesday.
In the first semi-final, Thuda FC defeated Khumiasü FC 4-3. Kevezo scored twice for Thuda FC, while Yithachu and Akoru added a goal each.
Tsüsasie scored two goals for Khumiasü FC, with Ashutho scoring the team's third goal.
In the second semi-final, Meluri Town FC defeated Crystal FC 3-1. Kevi Kin scored a hat-trick for Meluri Town FC, while Atsiatho scored Crystal FC's lone goal.
Earlier, Limatemsu Longkumer, Superintendent of Police, Meluri, and Shelley Katiry, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Meluri, graced the semi-final matches as match patrons.
The grand finale will be held on September 24 at 12:30 pm. Meluri Deputy Commissioner Phuleshe K Yephomi will attend the closing ceremony as the special guest.
The champion will receive a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh, along with a trophy and citation, while the runner-up will receive Rs 70,000. The losing semi-finalists will receive Rs 30,000 each.
Individual awards will also be presented for the best defender, best goalkeeper, most promising player, player of the tournament and highest scorer.
The Pochury Students' Union organises the football tournament in honour of its forefathers who made the ultimate sacrifice for the cause of the Naga nation.
