DIMAPUR, JANUARY 20 (MExN): A joint meeting between the leaders of Tobu and Mopong today reaffirmed their stand to boycott the January 26 Republic Day celebration over the State Government’s delay for retention of Mopong EAC Circle under the Tobu ADC’s administration.
A press release from the Public Forum (Tobu-Mopong) Convenor, W Longang Konyak and Co-Convenor, Sangti Konyak expressed disappointment at the delay despite all views and comments from the stakeholders and verification report from the administrative officers have been collected.
The press release informed that more than 200 leaders from Mopong and Tobu area attended the meeting. It demanded that the State Government immediately retain Mopong EAC Circle under Tobu ADC HQ with all the status quo under the same, including RD block, Police station etc on or before January 25.
It cautioned that failure to do so would compel the public to boycott the Republic Day celebration under under Tobu ADC, Mopong EAC and SDO (C) Monyakashu.
