Tokhu Emong cum Mini Hornbill Festival commences

Dr. Chumben Murry at the inaugural of the Lotha Tokhu Emong cum Mini Hornbill festival kick started at local ground Wokha on November 4. 


 

Wokha, November 4 (MExN): Lotha Tokhu Emong cum Mini Hornbill festival kick started at local ground Wokha on November 4 with Dr. Chumben Murry, opposition MLA as the inaugural special guest.


A press release stated here that Murry at the inaugural programme invited the people to celebrate the festival in true sense, with forgiveness, seeking blessing and with vision for the society. He told the gathering to leave aside the differences and stepping in to celebrate the festival with forgiveness and change of mindset. He express on the potential growth of tourism through festival by exposing the rich culture and identity by assimilation through old tradition fusion with present fashion which will be a next level for entertainment.


He shared about the present political development with the GOI and Naga political groups stating “it as a moment of a joy to celebrate the long struggle as all stakeholders came to agreement in principles, which has given ray of hope for permanent peace with the signing of agreement will be the dawn of a new era, the beginning of new Naga.”


Meanwhile, Murry encouraged the present younger generation to restrain them from misusing social media that creates confusion among the people as at times cases become more sensitive.


Around seventy stalls have been set up at local ground Wokha for the ongoing Tokhu Emong mini hornbill night carnival.


Dedication of Tokhu Emong was done by Rev. L Tsanso, president, LBCA, while Tokhu Emong festival was declare opened by Lotha Hoho Chairman Er. Mhondamo Ovung.
