‘Total Vehicular Bandh’ on IMDH stretch from Dec 16

Mokohchung, December 14 (MExN): The Core Committee of the four Wards i.e, Penli, Majakong, Lijaba Lijen and Artang Ward of Mokokchung today informed it will be imposing  “Total Vehicular Bandh” on the Dr Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital Road from December 16.

The vehicular bandh from “Police point and the approach road to IMDH and from Luke Sasong Road junction”  starting December 16, 6AM onwards, as the 14 days Ultimatum to repair the said road will expire on December 15, the committee stated in a press release.

Repeated appeals had been made to the administration and concerned department for immediate repair of the Road, but no stone has been moved so far, it said.

The four wards through the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung had written several times to the Government of Nagaland for immediate repair of the road giving an ultimatum with a dateline, it informed.

However, basing on the words and assurance of the DC Mokokchung earlier that the State Government had released the required amount for the said work and that the work will be started before December 15,  the four ward postponed an proposed Indefinite Bandh earlier,  in good faith, it maintained.

However, with the administration and the concern department failing to start the repair works, the committee is going ahead with the bandh, it added.

The committee also appealed the Ao Senden, Watsü Mungdang, AKM, All Ward Union, MTLT, MCCI, Media fraternity, different Civil Societies and the citizens of Mokokchung Town to co-operate and joint hands for the benefit of all.
