Training on 7th economic census held in Dimapur

DIMAPUR, JUNE 6 (MExN): A district level workshop cum training for the forth coming 7th Economic Census 2019 was conducted on June 4 in the conference Hall of DC Dimapur.

ADC Dimapur, Sharon Longchari emphasised on the importance of the survey and observed that the data collected would play an important role for policy making at all levels of different stakeholders. She also highlighted on how the data collected on previous Census shows the growth of business or economy in the state and the respective districts. She urged the supervisors and enumerators for the survey work to take their assigned responsibilities with sincerity.

Sebastian Ezung from DESO office Dimapur shared an overview of the importance of economic census to be conducted in the district and also stated that economic census includes the complete count of all establishments/ units located within the geographical boundaries of the country.

During the workshop, CSC- SPV district manager, Rokovilie Kotsu mentioned that the CSC as a special purpose vehicle under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology in partnership with Ministry of Statistics and Programme implementation has been tasked the responsibility of implementing the 7th Economic census.

As the 7th Economic census 2019 would be conducted through a mobile app, a walkthrough on the app was also provided by the CSC- SPV District Managers of Dimapur to the trainees and enumerators.
