Tribal Meal Express- ‘Nagaland’s first online food app with a cause’ was launched at YouthNet Office, 4th mile Dimapur on August 28.

The app was jointly launched by YouthNet director, Nuneseno Chase and the two founding members of the online food ordering and delivery platform, Imsunungsang and Lipoksasong Longkumer.

The app, which provides information, menus and user feedback of partner restaurants and hotels as well as food delivery option, will become operational from August 30.

The YouthNet director lauded the Tribal Meal Express (TME) team for coming up with the innovative idea and said such venture would go a long way in empowering the educated unemployed youth as well as build the economy of the state.

Nuneseno said, “Since Nagaland has the highest unemployment ratio in the country, the youth and especially women have to come up with new private entrepreneurships and ventures to empower themselves as well as generate employment.”

She said YouthNet is always ready to share its expertise, lend logistic and other support to upcoming entrepreneurs and local businesses.

Imsunungsang and Lipoksasong Longkumer said the launch of the app would create job opportunities for the youth, specially focusing on women folks. “We will be providing free meal daily to our riders, insurance policy and phone EMI option. Also, a certain percentage of every month sales will be given to the orphanage home and needy people,” the duo said.

Nungsang and Lipok also informed that TME would not only focus on restaurants which are already well known in the market but also focus on small and lesser known cafes and hotels.

The Dimapur based TME is also looking forward to partner with home- based food and catering businesses (cloud kitchen) which are mostly run by the housewives, who have the talent but are financially weak to open restaurants, to help increase their sales by promoting their food through the app.

“Tribal Meal Express is a food app which can help you with all your food related demands from keeping up with the latest recipe trends to finding out which food restaurants and cafes are nearby to learning more about beyond meat and next trending food,” the duo said.

TME provides an assortment of a wide range of dishes food that foodies would want to keep on their smartphones.

Some of the features of the app are live tracking status, separate app for the customers, restaurant owners as well as delivery riders. TME will be giving a flat 15% discount to the first 200 customers on their first orders.

Representatives from the Central Nagaland Students’ Association and Dimapur Naga Students’ Union also spoke at the launching event.
