Tseminyu, December 17 (MExN): The District Water and Sanitation Mission (DWSM) and Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) meeting for Tseminyu District was held at the DC Office Conference Hall on December 17.
Presiding over the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of DWSM Tseminyu, Japheth Woch highlighted the importance of including representatives from various departments, noting that each department is directly or indirectly involved in water and sanitation works under the convergence framework of the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation.
He requested line departments to specify tasks for data submitted to the nodal department, Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), to ensure comprehensive updating of the JJM and SBM-G dashboard.
As per the State DIPR, the DC further directed the PHED to expedite the certification process of Har Ghar Jal villages and the declaration of Open Defecation Free Plus Model Villages in the district.
He also emphasised the need to operationalise and manage the Plastic Waste Management units installed at Tseminyu and Chunlikha blocks, stressing that proactive efforts are essential for the success of these systems.
The Executive Engineer and Member Secretary of DWSM expressed gratitude to all department representatives for their participation and encouraged close coordination to ensure effective and sustainable implementation of water and sanitation programmes across the district.
During the meeting, the Social Welfare Department submitted data on the number of Anganwadi centres and their water coverage status. The Health and Family Welfare Department provided details of Community Health Centres (CHCs), Primary Health Centres (PHCs), and Sub-Centres along with their water availability status.
The School Education Department shared information on schools and their water supply coverage.
