Tuensang, February 22 (MExN): Tuensang Chapter of Uplifting Women Street Vendors Program, organized by Entrepreneurs Associate and Capri Global Capital Limited, was held at Town Hall, Tuensang on February 22.

The meeting was attended by presidents of all the wards of Tuensang, women street vendors, bankers, and district administration officials headed by ADC Tuensang, stated a DIPR report. 

Speaking at the programme, ADC and Administrator TTC, Thungchanbemo Tungoe acknowledged the Entrepreneur Associates (EA) for taking the initiative of giving awareness of the project to the people of Tuensang and also urged the EA to open up an office at Tuensang for which he assured assistance. Encouraging the women street vendors, he said that there is dignity in serving the society, while also helping educate the children, and to be a part of the economy is an inspiration. 

The ADC advised the vendors to get COVID 19 vaccination for the safety of family members and near and dear ones. He said that in terms of income, vendors are playing an important role in the district and need to be educated in terms of investments for the long-term benefits.

EA, Administrative Coordinator, Yutho Sangtam in her short speech on Entrepreneur Associates and upliftment of women street vendors remarked that the Naga society has a strong desire to fit in every educated youth to the government sector but in reality which is not possible; rather leaves one in frustration and depression.

“Coming up with an idea on entrepreneurship is a resort to satisfy the need of the hour of our society. Commercial farming is a very important component for a business module,” Yutho added.  She said street vendors play a crucial role in our society in facilitating the organic needs of our society and she also mentioned the eagerness of EA in assisting the entrepreneurs in every aspect of their journey.

Dr Zerila, MO DH Tuensang highlighted the importance of Ayushman Bharat health card and JSSK for the people, especially the women street vendors. She also highlighted the importance of COVID vaccination in this time of the pandemic.

Sankhil Shelmika, Senior Assistant SBI Tuensang spoke on the importance of financial planning and banking for women where she highlighted the schemes of government and SBI. He shared on the insurance, pension, and loan policies of SBI and social security schemes. He mentioned the importance of acquiring the complete necessary documents for bank services.

The meeting was chaired by Chubazen Longkumer, Project Coordinator EA and had an interaction session after the programme.
