DIMAPUR, JULY 19 (MExN): U-WIN training for vaccinators, nurses and community health officers for five blocks under Wokha district was organised by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Wokha at CMO conference hall on July 19.

Speaking at the training session, Dr Thungchangpeni Patton elaborated that U-WIN is portal launched by the Government of India under Universal Immunisation Programme (UIP) to record vaccination status of beneficiaries. Dr Patton informed that UWIN will facilitate in tracking vaccination record of pregnant women, newborn and updating of vaccination status digitally in real time from the previous service delivery record. 

The unique feature of U-WIN is that beneficiaries can be vaccinated anywhere in India using UWIN identity number, she added.  

Resource person, T Chumdemo Kikon, Vaccine and Cold Chain Manager Wokha, United Nation Development Progamme took a session on self registration process, administrator module, vaccinator module, delivery point module and mobilizer module. The resource person was assisted by the Block Programme Managers of National Health Mission, Wokha during the practical demonstration of self registration and data entry process.

In Mokokchung, three days training of trainers on U-WIN is underway at the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) office, Mokokchung on July 19.

CMO Dr Kibangkumba, in his address, encouraged all the participants to actively participate and attentive for the successful implementation of the program in the district.

Dr Imkongtemsu Longchar, State Immunization Officer (SIO) UIP, Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, Kohima highlighted that U-WIN is a continuation of CO-WIN which was used during the Covid-19 pandemic. 

He also gave an overview of U-WIN, stating that this app is a platform to register and vaccinate any pregnant woman, record delivery outcome, register every new born delivery, administer the first dose and all vaccination events. 

The participants were trained on U-WIN portal, hands on practice on self-registration module, delivery point module, vaccinator module and on real time registration on U-WIN live portal.

Resource persons for the training include Dr Imkongtemsu Longchar SIO, Sentirenla consultant NUHM, Achila, VCCM and Tongpang BPM. Participants include GNM, pharmacist, vaccinator, CHO, ANM, LHV, BPM and F/A.
