Kohima, March 26 (MExN): UCO Bank organised a Resource, MSME and Agriculture Carnival in Kohima on March 25, with Deputy General Manager Chinmay Kumar Sahu from the bank’s head office in Kolkata attending the programme. Branch managers from Kohima and nearby areas, along with existing and prospective customers, were present.
Zonal Manager Narendra Pratap Singh inaugurated the programme and, in his welcome address, thanked the attendees for their presence. He stated that UCO Bank is committed to serving customers in the Jorhat Zone and is actively addressing their financial needs. He also spoke about the bank’s achievements and vision.
The Regional Manager stated that the bank is committed to the socio-economic development of Nagaland and informed that under the ongoing campaign in the fourth quarter of the 2025–26 financial year, the Jorhat Zone has sanctioned loans amounting to more than ₹743 crore to 10,545 beneficiaries.
MSME Hub Head for the Jorhat Zone Amit Kumar briefed participants on loan products including UCO Contractor, UCO Trader, UCO Abhinandan, UCO GST Smart Finance and UCO MSME Yuva Shakti. He said financing the MSME sector is essential as it generates employment and contributes to economic growth.
Addressing the gathering, Chinmay Kumar Sahu said Nagaland has preserved its Naga heritage, which he described as commendable. He stated that customers are “brand ambassadors” of the bank and highlighted its performance in the third quarter of 2025–26, with deposits of over ₹3.05 lakh crore, advances exceeding Rs 2.30 lakh crore, and total business crossing ₹5.36 lakh crore.
He said the bank is conducting such carnivals across the country to strengthen the economy by financing agriculture and MSME sectors. He added that several loan and deposit products are being offered at competitive rates and appealed to customers to pay loan instalments and interest on time to avoid any adverse impact on their CIBIL scores.
Sahu also informed that UCO Bank has a wide presence in the Northeast and that customers can access services through digital platforms. He said the bank will extend support to its customers and mentioned the saturation campaign under financial inclusion being implemented by the Government of India.
During the programme, feedback and suggestions were collected from customers regarding improvement of services.
Among others present were N Timothy, Branch Manager (Chief Manager) of UCO Bank Kohima Branch; Matheba Besii, Senior Manager; Ruslono Sakhrie, Branch Manager of UCO Bank Kohima Secretariat Branch; and officials from the Government of Nagaland.
