An unidentified fully decomposed body was found in Viswema Village, Kohima in the afternoon by villagers today.
Locals here informed that the dead body was found by villagers in the outskirts below the national highway. Additional Superintendent of Police (SP), Kohima and PRO, Vitoshe Sumi informed The Morung Express that police after receipt of information, arrived at the spot for verification. However, owing to the fact that the body had fully decomposed, he informed that a joint verification on the spot will be required for identification.
“Identification could not be done today since we received information and reached the spot only in the evening,” he said. The police said “certain procedures will be followed wherein joint verification on the spot will be undertaken with the District Administration and Medical Department tomorrow.” The area has been demarcated and police have accordingly informed the villagers.
