Unity College hosts national seminar on Child Rights

Dimapur, November 1 (MExN): Department of Education, Unity College in collaboration with CHILDLINE 1098 Dimapur organized a two-day National Seminar on October 24 and 25 on the theme ‘Child Rights and Protection: Acts, Issues and Challenges.’
I Azungla Imsong, Assistant Professor, Department of Education, Unity College gave the Convenor’s address and highlighted on the aims, objectives, needs and significance of child rights and protection. Keynote speaker, Subonenba Longkumer, Nodal Director, CHILDLINE 1098, Nagaland and Governing Board Member, CHILDLINE India Foundation, encouraged the young scholars and students to look through one’s own perspective, bringing out one’s originality by writing books on the issue.
Dr Toli Achumi, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, Yingli College, Longleng was on the panel chair for the first technical session.
On day two of the seminar, the keynote speaker K Ela, Director, Prodigals’ Home/Collab Director CHILDLINE Dimapur highlighted on the issues of child rights, empowerment of children and encouraged the audience to be the answered prayer of those children.
The panel chair for the day two technical session was led by Meghali Senapati, Assistant Professor, School of Social Work Centre of Counseling, TISS, Guwahati.
Thereafter, the valedictory programme was chaired by Dr Temjenwabang Assistant Professor, Department of History. Concluding remarks on the seminar was given by Meghali Senapati where she appreciated the presenters for their valuable works on the respective topics. The programme was followed by distribution of certificates to resource persons and the paper presenters.
