Mokokchung, March 17 (MExN): A three day refresher training for urban Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) under National Urban Health Mission (NUHM) Mokokchung district was conducted from March 11-13.


Addressing trainees at the Conference Hall, CMO Office, Mokokchung Chief Medical Officer Dr R Chubala Aier highlighted on the importance of urban ASHAs and encouraged them to learn their responsibilities during the training period. She also urged the ASHAs to create awareness on 1st trimester registration, Home Based New Born Care (HBNC), sanitation etc, and their active community participation in various health activities. The training focused on the role of ASHAs and various health activities to be undertaken. It aimed at building on existing knowledge and the development of new skills in the area of community health, HIV/AIDS, non- communicable disease, maternal and child health, Home Based New Born Care (HBNC), Breastfeeding and Skills practice, a report from the CMO Office stated.
