Small animal anaesthetic work station at College of Veterinary Sciences inaugurated
Jalukie, December 17 (MExN): The ‘Vet Care on Wheels’, Students Canteen and Small Animal Anaesthetic Work Station at the College of Veterinary Sciences & AH, Jalukie was inaugurated by Dr S Ayyappan, Chancellor of Central Agricultural University and former Secretary, Department of Agricultural Research and Education and Director General Indian Council for Agricultural Research, Government of India on December 16.
Dr Capt G. Dhanan Jaya Rao, Dean of the college informed the Chancellor that Vet Care on Wheels will be the first of its kind to provide veterinary care at the door steps of the livestock farmers in north east which has also a minor surgical theatre and will benefit the students in providing exposure to rural veterinary practice.
A press release issued by the Dean stated that small animal anaesthetic work station is a state of the art anaesthetic machine which is also first of its kind in Nagaland. The College of Veterinary Sciences is bringing state of the veterinary care facilities to the livestock farmers of the state, said Dr Rao while requesting that the facilities at the college must be put to maximum use by the farmers to improve their economy through livestock.
