DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 30 (MExN): The Village Councils of Chesezu, Chesezu Nasa, Thenyizu and the Authority of Chetheba Town have declared that any un-authorized body or organization shall not be entertained with regard to the two lane compensation issues under Chakhesang jurisdiction.
A joint statement from the village councils condemned the statement of the Chetheba Town Area Land Owners Association (CTALOA) and claimed that the latter is an “un-mandated” body “which does not represent the voices of the real stakeholders of the affected Land Owners of Chetheba Area.”
“Chetheba Town exists within the land jurisdiction of Chesezu and Thenyizu Villages and as such without the knowledge and approval of the concerned village councils, the formation of such opportunist body is baseless and unfounded,” it added.
The village councils further resolved that any individual or group with genuine grievances against the authority with regard to compensation has every right to press for redressal of their claims on personal capacity with due recommendation from the concerned village authority.
“However, dragging the whole community or the villages name without due approval and mandate cannot be tolerated. The demands of CTALOA to the competent authority for re-verification of compensation is totally baseless and unacceptable as the village authorities have given their full assent to the land compensations within their own jurisdictions,” it added.
The village councils informed any individual with grievances to approach the village authorities, and also asked the authority to approach the concerned villages to know the realities.
